Our next meeting is December 5th, 2024, at The Blount Partnership/Chamber of Commerce, located at 201 S. Washington St., Maryville, TN.  The meeting starts promptly at 12:00, so come a little early to get checked in, grab lunch, and find a seat! $5+ membership donations for charity accepted at the door. We meet every other month. Please sign up for the meeting/lunch using the form to the right.

Maryville College

Represented by Leah Hadder

Career and Internship Coach

Leah Hadder is the current Career & Internship Coach at the Maryville College Career Center. She supports students by providing career preparation coaching services, specializing in internships, and frequently serves as a guest speaker across campus on topics related to career preparation. She additionally teaches multiple sections of the Maryville College Works seminar courses.

Before joining the Maryville College Career Center, Leah served in university recruiting and online admissions for Arkansas State University-Beebe and Lee University. She is a three-time graduate of the Arkansas State University system, earning a Master of Public Administration, B.S. in Management (Marketing Minor), and an AA in Liberal Arts-Business emphasis from Arkansas State University-Beebe, Heber Springs campus.

Leah is a current member of the National Association of Colleges and Employers, the Southern Association of Colleges and Employers, and Leadership Blount Class of 2025. In her free time, she loves to read, travel, and spoil her  “fur baby,” a spunky and sassy kitty named Suzie Q.

Courage Conquering Cancer

Courage to Conquer Cancer is a nonprofit organization based in Oak Ridge, Tennessee, that also benefits women in Blount County, dedicated to supporting patients recovering from breast cancer and other surgeries. Founded by a breast cancer survivor and her family, the organization focuses on providing cost-effective, innovative post-surgical products like their patented Recovery Tee, which helps manage surgical drains comfortably and effectively.

The organization’s mission is to enhance post-surgical outcomes by offering access to essential recovery supplies, educating patients, and advocating for high-quality care. Through donations and grants, they distribute care packages—complete with recovery garments, comfort items, and educational resources—to patients in need, free of charge. Courage to Conquer Cancer also collaborates with community partners to provide additional support, such as floral arrangements for patients, fostering a holistic approach to recovery.

SWSB: WHO WE ARE

Smart Women, Smart Business (SWSB) is a business networking group for women only, meeting in Blount County, Tennessee on a bi-monthly basis. Our mission is to support women in business through educational presentations by industry experts, focus group discussions, and networking connections. We highlight and gather donations for a different, local non-profit organization at each meeting, and actively gather input and participation ideas from our members.

We meet at various locations, which are announced about a month in advance.
